The City Palace – The major highlight of the city, the City Palace attracts a large number of visitors. Located on the fringes of Lake Pichhola, it is the state’s largest palace complex. Lake Pichhola – Lake Pichhola is the most popular man made lake of this nature blessed city. It was extended in the 16th century by Rana Udai Singhji II. Boating can be enjoyed on this lake while admiring magical views of the verdant hills all around. Boating in the evening is really an awe inspiring sight as at this time, the lights of the palace, the Lake Palace, Jag Niwas, Jagdish Mandir, etc., reflects in the serene waters of the lake creating a stunning ambience.
Jagdish Temple – One of the most popular temples in Udaipur, this temple manifests a blend of Indo-Aryan style of architecture. This temple was built by Maharana Jagat Singhji in 1651. People visit this temple to pay their respects to Lord Vishnu. In the evening, there is a lot of crowd to attend the evening prayers. The design of this temple is unique in itself. It is three storied and is known for its intricately designed ceilings, beautifully decorated corridors and imprinted stakes. Its dome or shikhar is almost 79 feet high and is truly magnificent looking.
Bagore Ki Haveli – This haveli is located close to Lake Pichhola and was constructed by the Chief Minster of the Royal Court of Mewar, Amir Chand Badwa. Clear royal touch can be seen in this haveli, which is a popular museum today. History buffs can browse through an extensive array of artifacts and royal treasures that have been conserved in order to preserve the rich culture of the city.
Saheliyon ki Bari – The city boasts of many stunning gardens and parks, but Saheliyon ki Bari is unique in itself as it was once frequented by the Royal ladies of Udaipur. It is lovely strolling in the well maintained gardens on the walking areas that are sufficiently shaded by huge trees. One can also admire the stunning views of Lake Fateh Sagar, another prominent lake in the City. Maharana Sangram Singhji built this garden in the 18th century for young Royal ladies as their summer retreat.
