About Jaipur

SIGHTSEEING IN  JAIPUR
Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) – Pyramid shaped 5 storey structure is the best example of Royal Mughal architecture. 953 Small windows built in such a style that it looks like a “Honeycomb”. As a matter of fact, it is said, that it was built for the royal women, since they had to observe a Burqha (Cover on the face) so that they could see and enjoy the processions. It’s true beauty reflects in early morning when sunlight reflects on it.

City Palace
– It is next to renowned Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). It was built by Maharaj Sawai Jai Singh. It is a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. It comprises of very large area which is divided into series of courtyards, Gardens and buildings. The premises consisits of Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Maharani Palace and City Palace Museum.

Amber Fort
– Situated at 11 Km from Jaipur, Amber (Popularly known as Amer). It is made of White marble and red sandstone. It is a blend of both Hindu and Muslim ornamentation. It’s outer appearance is rough but it is very soothing from inside. Most interesting thing about Amer is the “ Royal Elephant Ride”. Amer Fort flawless beauty can be only seen on a elephant ride. Jantar Mantar – It is just next to entrance of City palace. It is the largest astronomical observatory in the world. It is one of the 5 observatories built by Maharaja Jai Singh, founder of Jaipur. It is solely constructed by stone and marble. It was declared a national monument in 1948.

Jal Mahal – It was considered to be the pleasure place of the Maharajas. The 5 storey building is known for its incredible architecture. Its original charm comes in the evening when flood lights are switched on.

Nahargarh Fort
– It is first of the 3 forts built by Maharaja Jai Sawai Singh.  It gives an amazing view of Man Sagar lake. It also has cafeterias inside the fort. A visit to the fort will definitely make your trip a memorable one.

Jaigarh Fort –It is also located on the top of the hill as “Cheel ka Teela” (Hill of Eagles). It is also known as “Victory Fort”. It is situated at the top of the Hill, while Amber Fort is at the bottom. It was built purposely to act as a security to Jaipur and Amber. Highlight of this fort is the massive “ Cannon” by the name of Jaivan.
